AUUDI DORSEY

Auudi Dorsey (b. 1992, New Orleans, LA, US) is a visual artist living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. Of his work, Dorsey writes:

“In my works, I want to give black people who exist on day-to-day bases a chance to be a part of something bigger than their situation. My points of focus often come from being amongst these people, whether through conversation or visual consumption.    New Orleans has birthed the dialogs within my work; growing up here, culture, family and history shapes my work, but also my person. White tees [t-shirts], old porch railings, or the tiniest gesture of placing cigarettes are visual insights you’ll capture in my works. I want my work to identify the places and people that mold me, ‘cause without that environment, there’s no output.”
