Hoa Dung Clerget holds BA (Hons) Fine Art, Central Saint Martins (2019) and MA Painting, Royal College of Art (2021).

Whether painting, craft, installation or performance, each work reflects the transformation of a domestic objects. Hoa Dung often deconstructs the everyday material and brings it in a new form urging the viewer towards stories about transmission of traditions and gestures in families. These mudane objects of her French-Vietnamese education create a bridge between different places and an instantaneous community allowing to reverse the situation of displacement and fragmentation encountered by the diaspora.

Behind each transformation of the domestic object, there is a search to reduce means and accumulation of gestures. The works often refer to the history of Minimalist art in this unfulfilled desire not to overdo.
