MATT SMOAK
Matt Smoak is a painter and bricoleur, raised in Tokyo, Japan and Washington, DC. He makes paintings, collages, and performance pieces referencing queer histories, constructions of identity, and the phenomena of reflections. His work has been shown in solo shows in Europe and the U.S., and he is a former research fellow at the Beinecke Rare Book Library and the Yale Center for Collaborative Art and Media. He is a former resident of Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, and received his MFA in Painting/Printmaking from Yale University School of Art.SELECTED WORKS
